My Innocent Little Children

Current Photo of Myself

The current photo here of me is from a surprised trip my husband took me on for my 30st wedding anniversary to the Bahamas for 8 days.

A Children’s Book I Love

The children’s book that has been my favorite over the years is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. One of the things I always enjoyed about this book is the illustrations in it. I think that children learn by using illustrations. It’s a teaching book for me and I like the fact that children can learn how to count and learn the days of the week. It is a science lesson teaching you about a caterpillar from the time it is an egg and then how it transforms itself into a beautiful butterfly. I find this too be a book children love to read over and over. Over the years it still continues to be one of my favorite and it is also easy for children to read. This is the same book by niece used to teach her son how to count and the days of the week.

A Story about a Child that Touched My Heart

The story that touches my heart the most is of a child in our center who was taken from the public school system by someone she didn’t know. The story hit the news here in Pa and was very devastating to hear about. This child had things done to her no one could ever imagine. She was left in an area in the cold and wet rain until someone on their way to work heard the sounds of a little voice. As they walked closer to the sounds to their surprise it was the little girl that had been taken. What is more upsetting is that I have friends whose children attend that very same school and it was a very scary feeling. This child now attends my after school program along with 2 other siblings in our care as well. She is the sweetest and most beautiful thing you ever did see. Too my surprise she is well aware of what was done to her and has handled the situation very well. She is open and talks about it when she feels she needs to. She plays and interacts with the other children very well and thus far she is doing just fine. Her mother is very pleased and just mentioned to me on Wednesday that all of her family is pleased with our services and that it makes her feel good knowing how great of a day all the children have even though two come in after school. This little one can teach us adults a thing or two. It is important that we work hardtop protect all children and whether in the school system or daycare never release a child without going through proper protocol. This story will forever touch my heart. This is just one of the reasons I am so PASSIONATE ABOUT CHILDREN. She was just a child a young innocent child.
